I started this one in late evening of June, 22nd, finished today, June 26th.
About 15 hours of work, A4 paper, done with colored pencils (9 blue pencils, one yellow, 2 pink pencils, one orange, also one black, white and grey pencil), for sketch I used mechanical B pencil, for lines black marker in 0,05 size.
This is drawn without any references this time. Horse anatomy is drawn from my memory, and I was drawing sunrise this morning at about 5 a.m., while the sun really was rising and I was watching that sunrise (colors here are more or less the same as the sunrise I saw this morning, and there really were visible stars, when sky was already quite light). And the fact that I can draw a sunrise while the sun really is rising does not mean that I got up so early, I simply went to sleep so late.
This drawing is very different from how I usually draw. Usually I already know how I want the finished image to look like even before I start working on a drawing. This time I knew only that there will be a winged horse. The composition came in process, lines, which were intended to be wings, turned into ice, when I noticed that these feathers look like ice.
