Who needs wings... if you can run on the clouds…?
Who needs wings… if they can bring only pain and sadness…?
Horses of dreams and nightmares…
Dreams… They can be dangerous. Poisonous frogs are beautiful, but their bright, vivid colors are supposed to warn everyone who dares to come close not to do that. And waking up from a dream can be the most painful thing, because then you understand that all these beautiful things you dreamed about didn’t really happen in reality. With thorny horseshoes dreams can prick your heart.
But nightmares can bring peace, they can bring solace. Because after waking up from a nightmare you feel relief that it’s not so bad after all and your life still is bearable.
And sometimes there’s no difference between them, they are close together… Sometimes they are one. In a moment a dream can turn into a nightmare and vice versa.
And this drawing isn’t only about dreaming or seeing nightmares while sleeping, it’s also about life.
When we are really happy we start living in clouds, everything seems beautiful and we don’t even notice reality. But when we are unhappy we have aims that we want to gain. And we work really hard to achieve them. Being unhappy actually gives lots of motivation to work in order to change this quite awful life. But while being happy we don’t want anything, we don’t want to work for anything. Sometimes we even start daydreaming and have problems concentrating when that’s necessary.
Then we must pull ourselves together, stop daydreaming, and concentrate on work that we must do, but that isn’t easy.
But still at the same time we want to be happy even although it’s never sure if this happiness will be for long and if one day we won’t wake up finding out that this was just a dream not reality and then this waking up will be extremely painful.
And everyone lets one of these horses to carry himself through life.
